CO2 balance

For a correct management of natural habitats it is vital to consider the impact of carbon dioxide and to favour correct practices to keep it under control. The Reserve has a fundamental role in the community of Fagagna and a project about CO2 balance will certainly meet the expectations of those who care about environmental issues and sustainability.

We will collect data relating to the number of plants for each species of tall trees – trunk diameter, plant height, leaf surface, root surface – and we will use statistical calculations to determine the quantity of carbon stored in the plants and the quantity of carbon removed from the atmosphere, in particular of these substances: CO (carbon monoxide), O3 (ozone), NO2 (nitrogen dioxide) and SO2 (sulfur dioxide). These data will be made available on our website as well as on the website of the Municipality of Fagagna.
